Role Overview

OPS Nexus Advisory Limited is looking for a Design and Development Engineer to join its growing technical team.The successful candidate will contribute to the design and development of engineering and technology-enabled solutions, working across product concepts, mechanical design, CAD development, technical documentation, prototyping and product development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop mechanical and product designs from initial concepts through to detailed development.

  • Create 3D CAD models, assemblies, engineering drawings and technical documentation.

  • Translate technical requirements into practical and manufacturable design solutions.

  • Apply mechanical engineering principles, materials knowledge and manufacturing considerations to product development.

  • Support the development of prototypes and proof-of-concept products.

  • Conduct design reviews and contribute to product improvements.

  • Support testing and validation of designs and prototypes.

  • Carry out appropriate engineering calculations, dimensional assessments and material selection.

  • Develop designs with consideration for manufacturing, assembly, reliability and product performance.

  • Research components, materials and technologies relevant to product development.

  • Work collaboratively with technical, product and project teams.

  • Prepare technical specifications, reports and engineering documentation.

  • Maintain accurate design records, drawings and revision documentation.

  • Work with suppliers and external technical partners where required.

  • Contribute to the development of future integrated hardware solutions as the company's technical capabilities expand.

  • Participate in technical discussions, project meetings and design reviews.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a related discipline.

  • Strong understanding of mechanical engineering and product development principles.

  • Experience or academic experience with 3D CAD and engineering design.

  • Understanding of engineering drawings, materials, manufacturing processes and design considerations.
