Role Overview

OPS Nexus Advisory Limited is looking for a Design and Development Engineer to join its growing technical team. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of practical engineering and technology-enabled solutions, working across engineering design, CAD-based development, prototyping, digital engineering and technical documentation. The role will also support the use of process automation and digital technologies to improve engineering workflows and contribute to the development of integrated technology solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop engineering and product concepts into practical design solutions.

• Create and develop 3D CAD models, assemblies and engineering drawings.

• Translate technical requirements into practical and manufacturable engineering solutions.

• Apply mechanical engineering principles, materials and manufacturing considerations during design development.

• Carry out appropriate engineering calculations, dimensional assessments and component selection.

• Support the development of prototypes and proof-of-concept products.
  Support testing, evaluation and validation of designs and prototypes.

• Participate in design reviews and contribute to improvements in product functionality, performance and manufacturability.

• Support digital engineering workflows, including engineering tools, technical data and documentation.

• Contribute to engineering process automation, particularly where repetitive design, CAD, calculation or technical processes can be improved through digital technologies.

• Explore the integration of mechanical, digital, embedded and other technology components into practical engineering solutions.

• Research relevant technologies, components and engineering approaches for development projects.

• Prepare and maintain engineering drawings, specifications, design records and technical documentation.

• Investigate technical issues and contribute to engineering and design improvements.

• Work collaboratively with engineering, technology and project activities within the company.

• Support technical discussions with suppliers, manufacturers and external technical partners where required.

Required Skills & Qualification

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design Engineering, Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
